Basic insurance in common
A basic insurance policy is compulsory for everyone over the age of 18 and covers the most common healthcare costs, such as the GP, pharmacy costs or hospital visits. Within the basic insurance package we can distinct two types: an in-kind policy or a combination policy.
In-kind or combination policy
With an in-kind insurance, your costs are fully covered at healthcare providers and hospitals that are contracted to us. With a combination insurance, on the other hand, you are free to choose which healthcare provider or hospital you go to and 100% of your costs will be covered (exceptions apply). An in-kind policy is always the cheaper option. Most people pay their premium on a monthly basis, but if you choose to pay it in full in one single payment, you will get a discount on your premium.
Mandatory excess
You can also opt for a higher mandatory excess which will reduce your premium.

The basic insurance includes the most important care. Think of your GP, hospital care and the pharmacy. The difference is in the reimbursement you get from healthcare providers who don't have a contract with us. With VGZ, you're assured of good care. You can choose from 3 basic insurances with us.
